A Homeopath must listen to the details of the patients symptoms as well as observe their mental and emotional state. We require the patient to freely describe their symptoms in a detailed fashion to attain the information that is unique to the patient. The Homeopath must not only understand the condition that has brought the patient but also how this affects them. The initial intake is there for the trained Homeopath to accurately observe the patient in their state and acquire all the necessary information to make a prescription. This information is what is used to make a Homeopathic prescription. There are thousands of remedies to choose from and because of this a clear understanding of the patients inner state is required.
Many individuals remain unaware of this state and it is difficult to outwardly express, however a good Homeopath can observe these subtle clues or draw out this information where and when necessary.
Following your initial consultation the Homeopath will take the information that has been gathered and research which remedy is best suited to fit your unique state. This remedy will cover the totality of your symptoms from any physical problems to the mental and emotional. This process can take up to a week which after this time an appointment is made for a remedy pickup.
You will be asked to follow-up with your Homeopath to monitor any health complaints assessing the symptoms and tracing the level of improvement, as well as monitor the action of the remedy given. At this time a decision will be made to wait with the remedy that was given, repeat your remedy, change the potency or change the remedy all together.
Homeopathy is a very gentle system of medicine and the changes can sometimes be very subtle. However when we do see change in a patients state it is not just the suppression of symptoms it is the removal of the instigating cause.
